Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe
This recipe, somewhere between peach crumble and the American peach cobbler, is my favorite dessert in summer with a good scoop of vanilla ice cream or cream.

Crumble is an easy dessert that can be prepared in 5 minutes, requires no special kitchen tools (only an oven), and is served freshly made with ice cream to enjoy the contrast of the warm fruit and the cold ice cream.

What is the difference between peach crumble and peach cobbler?
The ingredients can be the same, but the texture and presentation are different:
- In a crumble, the dough is sprinkled over the fruit like crumbs.
- In a cobbler, small balls of dough (almost like cookies) are formed to cover the fruit.
To achieve an even crispier texture, you can add walnuts or pecans. In this recipe, I’ve added pecans, which pair wonderfully with ice cream.
It is said that peach cobbler was invented in the United States by English immigrants who adapted their traditional desserts using the fruit available to them. The dessert quickly became popular among the colonists.
A thousand ways to serve an almond crumble
In this recipe, I’ve combined almond crumble with peaches, a seasonal fruit that goes great with ice cream. But this isn’t the only way to enjoy it.
- Bake the crumble separately on a tray and use it to decorate ice cream, chocolate sauce, or strawberries.
- Use it as a crunchy topping for muffins or your favorite cake.
What fruits can be used to make a crumble?
- In summer, peach is the most typical fruit.
- In winter, apple works perfectly.
- Blueberry and pear crumbles are also delicious.
Besides fruit, you can add raisins and nuts for an even crunchier texture.
To achieve the crumbly texture, add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients (flour, almond flour, sugar, and salt) and mix with your fingertips or a fork. There’s no need to overmix. Once the mixture resembles coarse sand, place it over the fruit.
Is sugar added to the fruit when preparing a crumble?
In some American recipes, yes. They add lemon juice, sugar, and cornstarch to the fruit. This caramelizes the fruit layer and gives it a jam-like texture.
My favorite version is this one, where the crumble itself is sweet enough to complement the fruit and ice cream when served.
Almond crumble can also be frozen before baking for several weeks. Simply place it on top of your favorite fruit and bake when needed.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Question
Can I prepare the crumble in advance?

Fresh peaches are best for texture and flavor, but canned peaches (well drained) can also work.
